Terms of Service

Last updated

These terms govern your use of Routebook, a booking service operated by Deschutes Logic, a company in Oregon, United States ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Routebook.

1. The service

Routebook gives a technician a public booking page that offers customers only the time slots the technician can realistically reach, based on their calendar, working hours, and the driving time between appointments. Routebook is an early-access product under active development; features may change, and we may add, modify, or remove functionality.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to it secure. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the customer information you collect through your booking page and for having the right to process it, including providing your customers with any notice your local law requires.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Routebook for anything unlawful, or to send unsolicited or deceptive messages;
  • interfere with, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or another account;
  • scrape, resell, or redistribute the service or its data, or use it to build a competing product;
  • misrepresent who you are or what service you are offering to customers.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms.

4. Third-party services

Routebook depends on third-party services, notably Google Calendar and Google Maps Platform. Your use of those services through Routebook is also subject to their own terms, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or changes to them. Connecting a Google account is voluntary and revocable at any time.

5. Fees

Routebook is currently free to use during its early-access period. Paid plans will be introduced later; we will give notice before any charge applies to your account, and you may stop using the service instead of accepting new pricing. No payment method is collected today.

6. Your data

You keep ownership of your data. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. You grant us the limited right to process your data as needed to operate the service for you.

7. Availability and disclaimer

Routebook is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

In particular: drive times are estimates. They are derived from third-party traffic and mapping data and from the location information available on calendar events. Routebook does not guarantee that any offered appointment is reachable, and you remain responsible for your own schedule and for the commitments you make to your customers.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business, arising out of or relating to these terms or the service.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred US dollars ($100).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; where that is the case, these limits apply to the fullest extent permitted.

9. Termination

You may stop using Routebook and delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for what deletion removes. We may suspend or terminate the service, or your account, with notice where practicable — and immediately for a violation of these terms or where required by law. Sections 7, 8, and 11 survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes are communicated by email to account holders before they take effect. Continuing to use Routebook after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state and federal courts located in Deschutes County, Oregon, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction.
